New Set Review: 8623 Krekka

Our guest reviewer Golden Kanohi continues his reviews of the Summer 2004 Bionicle sets with Krekka.
Like Nidhiki's, Krekka's box pictures him with yellow eyes, which aren't in the set in any form.
Krekka's parts include a healthy supply of new ball joints, as well as a small supply of silver Toa Metru feet. The part selection also includes some standard Lego parts not usually seen with Technic or Bionicle pieces, of which are used to construct Krekka's red eye.
The highlight of Krekka's building process is the torso, which has a gear system used to raise his shoulder-mounted Kanoka launcher. The rest of the building is rather straightforward and easy-to-follow.
The best part about Krekka, in my opinion, is he is extremely compact and stable, two things not often seen in Bionicle sets or MOCs. The function of the shoulder-mounted Kanoka springing up and down is accomplished by simply flicking a switch on the back, causing the launcher to quickly shoot up into place.
Just how stable is Krekka? You can see below with the image I leave you with.
Yes, not only is he that stable, but I accomplished this pose easily without massive tweaking of weight. That's how evenly balanced he is.
To wrap up this review, Krekka is an extremely stable and well-built set, and his legs use the new ball joints effectively to create legs so stable it can be put in amazing and rather unlikely poses, as I demonstrated above, so I'd consider him an addition as worthy as any to your collection, and MOCer's ought to like him do to his large amount of the new joints, although they're not necessarily in the preferred color. All in all, it's hard to find something not to like about this bulky Dark Hunter, and I'm sure you'll like him too.
