Lego Conventions are always a blast for Lego Fans to attend, and it's a great way to meet other BZPower members and hang out. However, whenever we post about an event on the news, there are always those who are sad that the event's not in their local area. Well, with this article I hope to sum up most of the major Lego conventions in the US (and some outside the US.) There are so many conventions coming together nowadays that there's almost always one close to your area. Read on for the full list!
The Lego Show / AFOL Con
Across the pond, Lego fans in the UK can attend AFOL Con and the Lego Show in Manchester UK on May 3-7. (Yep, that's this weekend!) At The Lego Show, they are attempting to build the world record for the largest Lego mosaic ever, and the public will have the chance to help. Additionally, some cool sets from Lord of the Rings will be officially revealed at the show, which is another reason to attend!

Brick Magic: North Raleigh, North Carolina May 19-20. The big draw to this one is you will have the chance to meet Lego Certified Professional Dan Parker, who is a pretty cool guy. But, as usual, there will be a ton of Lego models on display, and secret Lego products are going to be revealed!

My personal favorite is Bricks Cascade, which will take place between May 31 – June 3 at the Portland Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. BZPower is going to have a strong presence here, and DeeVee is still looking for people to send in awesome Bionicle MOCs. If you want to send something in, contact him at Ahava516@hotmail.com and remember than any creations you mail in have to be received by May 30th, or else DeeVee won't get them in time to put on display!

Sydney Brick Show
If you're down under and can't attend Bricks Cascade, then you might want to check out The Sydney Brick Show at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia on June 2-3. Australian Lego fans should take note!

BrickWorld Chicago takes place on June 13-17 in the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois. It's one of the largest Lego conventions in the country, and there'll be plenty to do there, from building competitions to the BrickWorld Film Festival.

If you're going to be in Texas on July 4-8, then you can party it up at BrickFiesta at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas. It's another great gathering of Lego enthusiasts, and some BZPers may also show up!

Fans in eastern Canada can attend Brickfête at the Airport Hilton in Toronto, Canada on July 12-15. They're boasting that they'll have 10,000 square feet of custom LEGO creations in all sorts of themes, from Space to Castle to City.

Of course, one of the biggest and best is BrickFair in the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia on August 2-5. There's a fire theme this year, so expect to see lots of flaming MOCs. Of course, BrickFair is also the convention that attracts the most BZPower Members, and good times will be had by all. Will the BZP attendees be able to top last year's laser tag and BZTower model? We'll have to wait and see.

BrickWorld Fort Wayne
BrickWorld Fort Wayne comes to the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 22-23. Again, expect lots of cool models on display, from mosaics to Mindstorm.

Finally, another big BZPer convention returns to the Seattle Center when BrickCon takes place October 4-7 in Seattle, Washington. It's a ways out, but BZP members often have a strong presence there, and we need to make sure to bring plenty of Bionicle MOCs to fill up the tables. And all the regular BZPer attendees must remember to show up under the proper names upon which we decided last year.

Alas, there are some Lego Conventions that have already come and gone before the posting of this article. But fret not; they're sure to come back next year! Here's a short list of some of the main ones that took place in the previous few months.
BrickFair Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama on January 14-15. View more information about BrickFair Alabama
BrickVention Australia in Melbourne, Australia on January 21-22. View more information about BrickVention
BrickWorld Indy in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10-11. View more information about BrickWorld Indy
Bricks by the Bay in Santa Clara, California on March 16-18. View more information about Bricks By The Bay
Clearly there isn't a convention for every major city; there are still plenty of states that are sadly without Lego conventions. And I didn't even cover anything from mainland Europe! Still, there are quite a few conventions scattered across the country so Lego fans now have a variety to choose from. This year, BZPower will be strongest at BrickFair and BricksCascade, so please some to these conventions if you want to meet up with some other members. And if there's a big Lego convention taking place near you and it's not on our list, send us a news report, and we'll do our best to mention it on the front page. Thanks for reading, and hopefully you can find a fun Lego event to attend this summer!
