Toy Fair 2017: CircuitCubes

Today's Toy Fair find, CircuitCubes by Tenka Labs is a direct replacement for LEGO's Power Functions system. They've already got LED lights, motors, rechargeable batteries, and jumper wires, along with readily-accessible conductive connection points that work side-to-side (with magnets) or stacked in a manner reminiscent of LEGO's old "9V" system connectors. The price points are competitive with those of comparable modern LEGO electronics, but the appealling form factor of CircuitCubes makes them a serious alternative. Combining the readily-understandable (and easily hackable/exandable) aspects of the classic LEGO 9V electronic system of the 80s and 90s with an easy-to-handle 4-stud square footprint, they have that "grow with you" feel. We've got pictures of the CircuitCubes elements themselves, their proportions, and some examples of ways to use them with LEGO pieces.
