Brick Daddy Fun Pack
LEGO Dimensions is coming out this fall, and along with the game will come a number of expansion packs to add new characters, vehicles, levels, and more. BZPower Member Dina Saruyama is apparently looking forward to the opportunities this could present, and is hoping LEGO draws back on some of its older themes for these add-ons. Fun Pack: Brick Daddy
is a miniature recreation of 5984 Lunar Limo from the Space Police 3 theme from 2010 along with the Brick Daddy minifig from that set. It's a great little mini-model that really captures the feel of the original. I hope LEGO is planning on using Dimensions as an opportunity to go back to some of its past themes as opposed to focusing just on its many licensed properties!
Ninjago Season Four coming to DVD!
Amazon.com recently added a listing for LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Season Four
on DVD, featuring all ten episodes of the "Tournament of Elements" story arc on two discs! It is scheduled for release on July 21 of this year. Although the listing still features a placeholder title, the image and other information are correct. This is a Region 1 DVD set, so Ninjago fans outside the U.S. and Canada may need to wait a bit longer to see these episodes on DVD.
Bionicle Mask Hunt Week 5 Winners
The penultimate batch of winners has been announced
for the Bionicle Mask Hunt. The winners now have the chance to win one of the six 14-karat gold masks, but the game's not up yet. You have one more week to submit your own pictures to the contest to get a chance yourself, so get out there and start finding those hidden masks!

LEGO Super Star Destroyer Shattered
The folks over at Wired celebrated Star Wars Day the best way possible; by dropping a LEGO Super Star Destroyer on the ground and watching it shatter. Better yet, they captured the whole thing in slow motion, so you can watch the various pieces and minifigures go flying. It could be a sad sight for some fans, but since it is LEGO, they can just spend another 16 hours rebuilding it. You can watch the full video here.
- Ninjago Graphic Novel Update
After our recent story about upcoming LEGO graphic novels, Greg has contacted BZPower to let us know that he is actually only working on, "back matter," for the Ninjago book. This is the informational text you find at the back of some graphic novels at the end of the comic story. He is not actually writing the comics. From Greg Farshtey

LEGO Star Wars Episode VII Sets Coming September 4th
StarWars.com has announced
that the first wave of Star Wars Episode VII themed toy merchandise will arrive on September 4th, including LEGO sets. Keep in mind this doesn't mean that all new LEGO Star Wars sets will be released on that date but it does mean that you should find a very good selection of them on your store shelves that month. Mark your calendars!
The LEGO Movie 4D Adventure Coming Soon
The latest issue of the LEGO Club Magazine that we reported on
makes an interesting mention in the last page. It seems we won't have to wait for The LEGO Movie 2 to see some more of Emmet, Wyldstyle and co., as The LEGO Movie 4D Adventure is coming to American LEGOLAND Resorts and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers soon! It seems it will feature Emmet on Wyldstyle on a "hilariously epic adventure as they journey through LEGOLAND" and I'm sure it's going to be a ton of fun. Make sure not to miss it if you plan to visit a LEGOLAND soon!

Authors Announced for LEGO Friends and Ninjago Graphic Novels
Titles for the new LEGO Bionicle, LEGO Friends, and LEGO Ninjago graphic novels are still pending, but Amazon.com has now listed authors for the latter two. LEGO Friends Graphic Novel #1
will be written by Olivia London, whose previous writing credits include young readers books based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
and The Penguins of Madagascar
. Meanwhile, LEGO Ninjago Graphic Novel #1
will be written by Greg Farshtey, familiar to BZPower members as the long-time writer of LEGO Bionicle and LEGO Ninjago chapter books and graphic novels. It's great to see that his authorship of the LEGO Ninjago graphic novels will be continuing in spite of the change in publishers.
Greg has contacted BZP to let us know that he is actually only working on, "back matter," for the comics, not the comics themselves. -Andrew
LEGO Inside BIONICLE: Pohatu Designer Video
It's time for another inside look at our favorite Toa of Stone. Senior Designer Matt Betteker takes a look at Pohatu, Master of Stone, including the designs for his mask and his new weapons. He also shows off the 14k gold mask of stone, which is definitely neat. You can watch the video here.

Trailer for A Lego Brickumentary Released
The trailer for A Lego Brickumentary
is now online, showing just what an amazing world AFOLs and all LEGO fans live in. From fans to the fan conventions, small sets to towering creations, the documentary creators strove to show all angles of the fan community. This LEGO documentary that premiered at last year's Tribeca Film Festival is getting a wide US release this summer on July 31 (just in time for BrickFair VA). Watch it now
, along with a small clip
from the Wall Street Journal, to see how A Lego Brickumentary
will be unlike any LEGO expose shown before.
Spring has sprung across North America, so what better time to review a hoppy-go-lucky LEGO Friends set? 41087 Bunny & Babies
is one of the smaller boxed sets in the Friends Vet subtheme focusing on some adorable rabbits. To see if you should hop to it and pick up this set, read on and check out our video!

BrickFair New England is going on right now, but LEGO isn't present to reveal this new set. Instead, at the Time to Play event in New York (which I can't find any information about) they are revealing 10247 Ferris Wheel, the latest in the line of Creator Expert sets. This compliments last year's Fairground Mixer very well and is a great addition to the series. Read on to check out the designer video, see the pictures, and read the full press release!
Daft Punk Idea Reaches Goal
Arriving in from the 'did not see that one coming' desk, it appears that a LEGO Ideas project based on Daft Punk
has received ten thousand votes of support on LEGO Ideas and will move forward into the review phase. I certainly enjoy their music and think the design of the minifigures here is nice, but in the end all that's posted on the Ideas page are the minifigs and a mixing station. To me, that doesn't make for much of a set and I'm not sure I see it passing review. The LEGO Ideas Team sure has their work cut out for them during this next review cycle, with over a dozen projects having passed the ten thousand mark. I can't wait to see the results!

Bionicle Mask Hunt Week 4 Winners
Things are really heating up with the Bionicle Mask Hunt, as the forth week of winners
have been announced. Each of them will get a free Bionicle set, but will also be in the running for the 14-karat gold masks too. There are still two weeks left to go, so take your camera and try to seek out some masks in every day objects, and you might be one of next week's winners!
June LEGO Store Calendar Found
Allen over at The Brick Fan has shared some images of the June 2015 LEGO Store Calendar
. As usual, there's lots of stuff going on, but a couple of the highlights include a free LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Winter Soldier (5002943) polybag minifigure with purchases of $75 or more, the release of the LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel (10247) on June 1st, and a contest for LEGO VIP members to win 1 of the 750 Limited Edition LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pods. Don't think too far ahead though, because it's almost May and that means Star Wars May the Fourth promotions will be starting soon too!
Ninjago Book Exclusive Minifig Revealed
The folks over at Brick Fanatics were able to score an exclusive reveal
of the minifigure that will appear in LEGO Ninjago: The Secret World of the Ninja, one of the latest LEGO books from DK that will be released on June 16th in the US. The figure is a new design for Sensei Wu, with what appears to be new torso and leg printing. Perhaps not the most exciting choice, but if you're a Ninjago collector you should preorder the book now
to make sure you get it as soon as it comes out!

What's that in your mailbox? If you're lucky, it might just be the latest issue of LEGO Club Magazine. This reporter's copy arrived just today! Don't get the magazine? All three US editions are also now available at the LEGO Club website
. The latest Red Brick edition
features the Avengers from this year's LEGO Marvel Super Heroes lineup on the cover, the Green Brick edition
features the LEGO Juniors firefighting sets, and the Yellow Brick insert

LEGO Legends of Chima Soundtrack Released in Two Volumes
Love the music of Chima? You're in luck! Not one but two
soundtracks from the LEGO Legends of Chima TV series are now available as both digital downloads and CDs. Volume One
, featuring thirteen tracks of music from the first season of the show, was released over a year ago, but we did not report on it at the time. Volume Two
, featuring ten tracks of music from the second season, was released last week. Both volumes are composed by Anthony Lledo and include nearly 32 minutes of music. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the series or just a casual observer, this epic orchestral soundtrack might be worth a listen!
Profile of a Part Producer
Over at the ReBrick blog, Signe Lonholdt recently posted a profile with Erland Refling Nielsen
, a technical element designer at LEGO. He's one of the main people responsible for the Mixel ball joints from last year and has also designed constraction, Technic, and System elements. A LEGO fan himself, he has tons of Bionicle and other constraction sets at home - something I'm sure many of you can relate to. Go give the article a read; it's really quite an insightful look into the mind of an element designer.
Gamify Your Activity
You do things on BZPower every day, but why not do more? No incentive, you say? What if you got points for doing things on the site? That's the idea behind Activity Boost!
, a game by BZPower Member Lucina that encourages you to post new content and give feedback on existing topics by granting you points for certain actions. If you earn enough points, there are even some prizes you can get! It's an intriguing concept and one that's worth checking out.

Last month Portland, Oregon, had their fourth Bricks Cascade LEGO convention return to the Oregon Convention Center. While not the biggest convention, the public sure enjoyed the variety of MOCs on display and the AFOLs enjoyed one another's company. BZPower was there with a substantial representation from across the continent, showing off creations in various themes and through several collaboration displays. Check out what all was there!
Who Will Attack the Lord of Skull Spiders?
Recently a new poll has gone up on the LEGO Club website
asking people to help decide the path of the Bionicle story! From the page:
To gain access to the Okoto's most ancient, ruined city, our heroes have to drive off the Lord of the Skull Spiders and his minions... but he's a terrifying adversary, with power and agility to match the strongest Toa.
Fortunately the Master and Protector can fuse to form a Super-Toa capable of meeting any challenge! Which of the elemental teams has the strength to drive the enemy away? Or do you think that one of Toa can maximise their special abilities?
So go cast your vote and help move the story along!

Journey to the City of the Mask Makers
Lots of people let us know that LEGO has released Episode 9 of the Bionicle animations in English. You can check out "The City of the Mask Makers" on LEGO.com
, depending on your preference. Tahu receives a message from Ekimu as our heroes continue their journey to wake him. But what's that at the end? Probably a hint at the summer story, which I can't wait to hear more about!
Today we turn our eyes towards the new LEGO Elves theme with a review of 30259 Azari's Magic Fire, one of the smallest sets in the theme. The polybag was originally available in March from LEGO Stores and Shop@Home for free with the purchase of any Elves set. So is this vignette of a set worth tracking down, or are you better off focusing on other sets to add to your collection? Read on and watch our video to find out!
Onua Designer Video Released
LEGO has added a new video to their YouTube channel that I'm sure you'll all want to watch. LEGO Inside Bionicle - Onua Designer Video
brings us Matt Betteker, Senior Designer for LEGO Bionicle, talking about the concepts, inspiration, and design for the Toa of Earth. Of course, it also shows off the 14k gold mask to help hype us all up for the contest. So go watch the video and keep looking for masks all around you!
LEGO is the Fifth Most-Reputable Company in the World
According to the Reputation Institute RepTrak 100 survey conducted earlier this year, LEGO ranks as the fifth most-reputable company, globally. I remember three years ago
when they were only number ten! As the press release states
, ahead of TLG are: BMW Group, Google, Daimler, and Rolex, while LEGO came in ahead of big names such as The Walt Disney Company, Canon, Apple, Sony, and Intel. Breaking it down by regions though, LEGO actually tops the list in North America and placed second in Europe. It's harder to be more trustworthy than that!

Czech Republic Factory Increases Production
LEGO announced recently
that an expansion to their factory in Kladno, Czech Republic has been completed. The addition gives them 50-thousand square meters of new space, bringing the facility up to 140-thousand square meters. The expansion is expected to create six hundred new jobs and allow the company to meet the ever-growing desire for the popular bricks. Hopefully this means more Exo-suit and Research Institute-type sets can be made in the future to meet the huge demand!

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron is only about a week away, so let's take a look at one of the other LEGO sets based on the movie. BZPower Blog Assistant Ta-metru_defender today reviews 76030 Avengers Hydra Showdown
, one of the smaller sets in the line featuring Thor and Hawkeye. Will they succeed in taking down Hydra on their way to defeating Ultron? Or will their jeep crash and burn? You'll just have to read on to find out!
Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer LEGO-ized
With only a week until its release in the United States, Avengers: Age of Ultron
material keeps popping up (check out the LEGO set reviews BZP has done). Brotherhood Workshop, known for their silly Lord of the Rings
LEGO stop-motion videos, has remade the entire initial Avengers: AoU
trailer out of LEGO--all two minutes of it! The project took five months to do, reports Robot6
where you can watch the video itself, which is to be expected of something of this caliber. See all the details for yourself as LEGO heroes and villains come to life in the battle for the planet.
What's Small and Yellow and has Ten Thousand Fans?
The answer, of course, is "Small YELLOW
" by none other than Nathan Sawaya, one of the most famous brick artists around. A smaller version of his famous 'YELLOW' sculpture has reached ten thousand votes of support on LEGO Ideas, meaning it will be reviewed for consideration to be turned into and actual set. I'm sure there would be a lot of demand for these, as Nathan is well-known inside and outside of the LEGO community and his exhibits have been visited by many, many people. Best of luck!

VooDoo Heads on Camera
The Faber Files blog has been updated once again, this time with possibly some of the coolest content yet. In Turaga Files - Unboxing the Legend - Exhibit 023 - Video 1
, Christian Faber takes out some video tapes and a camera that I'm guessing can't even be connected to a modern computer to show us some of the early concept models for the VooDoo Heads. Those sets, of course, would go on to become Bionicle, and you can already see some of the similarities like masks and functions (and one model that looks like a blue Muaka). This is a must-watch for any Bionicle fan and shows off the origins of the line!

New DC Super Hero Girls Announced, With LEGO
DC Comics has announced a new universe called DC Super Hero Girls, which will focus on empowering girls, and will feature many of the famous DC female characters as relatable teens. You can read more about the announcement here
, and it definitely sounds like a cool concept. But one of the more intriguing bits is that LEGO will be the exclusive construction partner, which means we might get some Friends-style LEGO sets for the DC characters. It's set to begin in Fall 2015, so it'll be interesting to see how this turns out!
Last month we reported that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers would be publishing new graphic novels for the LEGO Bionicle, LEGO Ninjago, and LEGO Friends themes between now and the end of this year. Now, thanks to Amazon.com and the watchful eyes of BZPower's Pereki, we know exactly when to expect them as well as how many pages to expect (80 each), although other details such as titles are still forthcoming. Read on for the full slate of release dates!
- BIONICLE Chapter Book Gets a Title
Eagle-eyed Pereki also noticed that the listing for the Kindle edition of the first BIONICLE 2015 chapter book by Ryder Windham finally gives it a title: Island of Lost Masks. Both the digital and print editions are 128 pages long and will be released August 25 of this year. - Scott From Pereki

Bionicle Mask Hunt Week 3 Winners
The next batch of weekly winners
for the Bionicle Mask Hunt have been revealed. They are now all in the running for a chance to win one of the six 14-karat gold Toa masks. The contest is now halfway finished, but there are still three weeks to go, so make sure to enter yourself!
A Familiar Foe Gets a Facelift
We would be remiss in our coverage of awesome constraction MOCs if we didn't mention the winner of BBC Contest #69: Everything Old Is New Again!
: Protector Dume and Nivawk
by Gamma-Ray. This builder is no stranger to contests, as his MOC Hysleria was a Battle for the Gold Masks finalist on ReBrick
. In this case, both Dume and Nivawk make good use of newer CCBS pieces and older Bionicle ones to achieve some excellent shapes and curves. They both even have some play features, making them more than just display pieces. Go check them out!
