And a Million Miles Away a Butterfly Flapped its Wings
Sometimes Bionicle creations aren't even made out of Bionicle parts - and that's okay! BZPower Member ...The Chosen One... recently shared the Mangupepeke
, a butterfly Rahi native to Le-Koro made pretty much entirely out of System parts. The use of tail pieces to give the wings shape works out quite well, and all of the little details on the head and body make it instantly recognizable. The color scheme of lime green and transparent neon green contrasts well with the black, and as TCO mentions in the topic, brings back memories of the old Blacktron II sets. I always love seeing creatures that fit into the Bionicle universe, and this one is no exception. Head over to the topic and let The Chosen One know what you think!
We're a little late, but the newest episode of This Month in Bionicle is now live! Head on over to BZPower's YouTube channel
to learn all about what happened in the world of Bionicle in April. Nescent covers all the major points, from artwork to graphic novels to official set images and more. There are some slight spoilers from the new comics, so if you're sensitive to those be ready to pause when we warn you. Let us know what you think about the episode and what summer sets you're most looking forward to in the Talkback!

Ninjago Fans Recall How the Ninja Defeated the Great Devourer
Continuing the ongoing series of LEGO Ninjago stop-motion recap videos, nine-year-old Ninjago fans Joshua and Ian explain "How the Ninja Defeated the Great Devourer" in a new video on LEGO.com/Ninjago
. As in the last two
videos, you can expect a little creative license and fuzzy memory, but that arguably just adds to the charm of hearing the story explained by the kids it's created for. Follow the links above to watch the new video!
Activate Interlocks! Dyna-therms Connected!
Hot on the heels of the first review deadline, a new project has reached ten thousand votes of support on LEGO Ideas. Voltron - Defender Of The Universe
by len_d69 faithfully creates the robotic lions from the popular 80s cartoon and is timed pretty perfectly with the reboot coming next month. Of course, while the lions are cool, it's even cooler that they're able to combine to form the giant robot that we all know and love (those of us from the 80s, at least). There's a lot of detail in the models that accurately capture the look from the show. I would personally love this model - how about you guys? Let us know in the Talkback!

Our Only Goal Will Be the Western Shore
BZPower Member Soran is working on a comic series set in the Bionicle Universe titled "The Road to Home
," which takes place on the Northern Continent. Recently, he's decided to share some of the original background artwork of the Western Shores in the topic MNOG-esque Backgrounds
. I think he does a great job capturing the style and detail from the early years of Bionicle animation with locations that really capture some feeling and emotion. The coloring is simple and appropriate and makes me want to play the classic Mata Nui Online Game. Let Soran know what you think in his topic - hopefully he'll share some more in the future!

New LEGO Ninjago Mini-Movie: "The Tall Tale of Sqiffy and Bucko"
LEGO.com/Ninjago has been updated with this year's sixth LEGO Ninjago Skybound mini-movie, titled "The Tall Tale of Sqiffy and Bucko
". This account of how these two ineffectual partners joined the sky pirate crew of Misfortune's Keep is decidedly non-canon, contradicting their origins as seen in episode 61 "Wishmasters", but it's still a fairly amusing tale. Follow the link above to see what happens in this latest video!

LEGO Looking to Expand in China
CNBC recently talked to LEGO CEO Jorgen Vig Knudstorp
about the toy company's plans for the ever-growing Chinese market. In addition to opening up a factory in the country, their parent group the LEGO Foundation is working with a Chinese university to study the interactions of learning and play. They also stated that they are trying to include more Asian characters and settings in their products and are looking into other ways to reach the market. Clearly their approach has already been working - the article states that LEGO saw double-digit sales growth in China in 2015.

We fell way behind on convention coverage in the second half of last year, but we haven't forgotten about all of those events. We're going to start with the most recent events and work our way backwards, and that means today we're taking a look at BrickUniverse Raleigh 2016. This was the second time the event was held, and it saw a large increase in the amount of AFOLs in attendance and MOCs on display. We already shared a couple of videos from the event, so now it's time to check out the creations that were on display. Read on to check them all out!
New Patch for LEGO Worlds
Chris Rose from TT Games has recently made a new blog post
over on Steam announcing a new patch for Update 5 of LEGO Worlds. It's mainly some bug fixes and a couple of small features, but I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated by anyone affected by the issues. They also discuss the winners of their recent contest with ReBrick that will be on display at E3 in June! It's cool to see a constant stream of updates and fixes for this fun open-world game!
This year's series of LEGO Ninjago Skybound mini-movies continues on YouTube with the fifth installment, "The Tall Tale of Monkey Wretch
", which shows us the origin of Misfortune's Keep's metal monkey mechanic. Once upon a time he was Monk, his tropical island home's fastest and most skilled shipwright and mechanic, but his fate changed forever when he crossed paths with an all-too-eager monkey and the crafty djinn Nadakhan. This Saturday will be the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, and to honor the playwright's enduring legacy, LEGO has released a 98-second YouTube video

The official LEGO Bionicle website has received several updates this week. The Explore section
has been updated with two new chapters in the story "Unity", focusing on Tahu
finding and uniting with their Elemental Creatures, and a new story called "The Mask of Control
" has been added, roughly outlining the events of The Journey to One
episode two "Trials of the Toa". Additionally, the Galleries page
has been updated with a gallery specifically for Ice Creatures, though it presently lacks a submit button. Follow the links above to check out the new content!
LEGO Among the Most Authentic Brands
Global PR firm Cohn & Wolfe has been studying 'authenticity' since 2012, and based on their research has now released the Authentic 100
, a list of the "highest ranking brands in the world based on consumer perception of authenticity." Not surprisingly, LEGO made the list at number 10, beating out brands like Google and Ford. If you're curious as to what 'authentic' means, the firm defines it here
. Obviously the criteria are a bit subjective, but it's still cool to see LEGO getting recognized for its efforts to do right by its customers.
LEGO Graphic Novel and Chapter Book News Roundup

now confirm that the trilogy is being written by Greg Farshtey and illustrated by Paul Lee (who previously collaborated on the third LEGO Ninjago graphic novel from Papercutz, Rise of the Serpentine
). Finally, a title and preliminary cover art have been revealed for LEGO Bionicle chapter book #3 Escape from the Underworld

LEGO Ninjago Fan Robbie Reveals How Lloyd Became the Green Ninja
If you enjoyed the stop-motion video "How Wu Met the Ninja
", you might be pleased to hear that a follow-up video has been posted to LEGO.com/Ninjago
with the title "How Lloyd Became the Green Ninja". In this video, ten-year-old LEGO Ninjago fan Robbie runs through how Lloyd Garmadon joined Sensei Wu's ninja team and fulfilled his destiny of defeating the Overlord. It plays pretty fast and loose with the facts (Master of... Poison? Huh?), but still offers an amusing perspective on some key moments in Ninjago history!
