LEGO Batman 3 Release Date
As IGN reports
, Warner Bros has confirmed the release date for the upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
video game. North American gamers can look forward to get the game on November 11th while players in the UK and presumably the rest of Europe will have to wait only three days longer until November 14th. Will the third iteration of Batman and DC Super Heroes games continue the success of TT's LEGO video games?

BZPower Member ~The 1st Shadow~ recently took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
to help raise awareness of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disease affecting thousands of people in the United States. At the end of his video, he challenged me to do the same. I couldn't back down from supporting a good cause, so you can continue on to watch me take the challenge and see who I passed it on to! Go to the ALS Association website
to find out how you can help find a cure.
What's better than one fan video speculating how the LEGO Movie should have ended? The answer: a second one! HISHE
(How It Should Have Ended) and Brotherhood Workshop
have again provided us with a second look at the movie's ending, this time focusing on Lord Business. Keep reading to watch it.
Defender of the Jungle
Last month Makaru shared his take on Tamaru
, a Matoran we've all known and loved since 2001. Having seen her in person at BrickFair Virginia, I can attest that it's a great reimagining of the character. Armed with her trusty disk launcher and carrying a satchel full of useful supplies, Tamaru is ready to take on any threat to Mata Nui. Makaru does a great job staying true to the original color scheme while utilizing many newer Hero Factory parts. Go check it out and share your thoughts and critiques on it!

LEGO Mixels Special on TV
Mixels fans, set your recorders! Cartoon Network will air
a 30-minute "Mixels: Mixed Up Special" on August 31st. No word on whether it's just a compilation of the two-minute episodes there have been so far or if it's something entirely new, but I'd lean towards the latter. Of course, if it turns out to be the former Mixels fans will surely have their treat anyway.
The special seems to feature new material

Lord of the Rings Sets Marked Down on Amazon
For the LEGO Lord of the Rings fan, certain sets are decently marked down on Amazon currently, making these licensed sets slightly more affordable. These include The Battle at the Black Gate
, The Dol Guldur Battle
, and the large Pirate Ship Ambush
, among others notes FBTB
. For the fan looking for more sets and the collector seeking out a deal, Amazon provides with an alluring sale.
Story Update: Velika's Agents
This is a small story update but since it's been really long since we had any (at least as far as I know), I found it worth a mention. Greg Farshtey has revealed
on the LEGO Message Boards that Velika has agents loyal to him on Bara Magna and at least one of them are characters that we met in 2009 story. Will Greg leave us in the dark about their identities or will we find out more?

Lego Ideas: Minas Tirith Reaches 5,000 Supporters
Back when LEGO Ideas was still Cuusoo, our own Nuju Metru submitted his Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith project
that recreates the famous city from the movies and books. And his project recently surpassed 5,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, which means he's halfway to the review process! He only has 248 days left to gather the rest of the supporters he needs, so if you want to see his model as an official set someday, head over and give it a vote!

Japanese illustrator and designer Akihiro Mizuuchi has combined two of the most popular things of the world into one with his molds for edible LEGO bricks out of chocolate
. Bricks come in white, pink and several shades of brown and in several basic shapes to make your chocolate eating experience even more fun. Just make sure to make your chocolate creation not too cool or you'll not want to eat it (in which case it may melt, so you're left with nothing). Unfortunately, the chocolate bricks are not on sale yet, but you never know what could happen when LEGO executives feel a sudden appetite for chocolate...

LEGO Ambassador Network Update
Back in May we shared
news about the upcoming revamp to the LEGO Ambassador Program which will now be entitled the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN). Over at the LEGO Community Team Blog, Keith Severson has made a post
updating us on the timeline of the new program. Additionally, he has announced the first batch of LAN Workgroup Leaders, of which I am happily a part of. Among other things, this means that when the LAN kicks off, BZPower will have a new Ambassador - none other than Forum Administrator Tufi Piyufi! I look forward to helping get the new program on its feet and working with Jen and all the other Ambassadors to help strengthen the LEGO community. If you are a part of any other LUGs or LEGO communities, please pass this info on so we can get maximum participation in the program.
New Legends of Chima Episode Tomorrow
The next episode of Legends of Chima
airs on Cartoon Network tomorrow morning. 'Call of Cavora' will start at 7:30 AM Eastern, but you should check the full schedule
to see when it will run in your time zone. Last time we saw our heroes experience ice for the first time - maybe this week we'll get some fire to help thaw them out?

What Are Your Thoughts on the LEGO Magazine?
It looks like LEGO has plans to change how the LEGO Club Magazine works. Starting later this year in some countries and next year in others, people over the age of 13 will no longer be able to have a subscription to the magazine. The LEGO CEE Team wants the fan community's feedback on this change, so we've started a topic
to do just that. Go vote in the poll and share your thoughts on these changes - will you miss not being able to get the magazine?
Micro-Bionicle Batch 1 by bonesiii
Our Perpetual Master of Reference has assembled
a cute collection of small representations of all sorts of Rahi, built with system pieces in the extended mode of the LEGO Digital Designer. One of my favourite types of MOC is building a small representation of something larger by using the right pieces in clever ways. The results are pretty impressive and really convincing, like the Nui-Jaga, the Tarakava, Manas and others. As a bonus there is also a recreation of the Kini-Nui temple. Be sure to let bonesiii know your thoughts and perhaps you'll feel inspired to create your own micro-bonkles!
Construction of the LEGO House Begins
You've seen our review of 4000010 LEGO House
, but now it appears that construction on the actual house is underway! As The Newsmarket reports
, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and the rest of the founding family was on hand to lay the six foundation stones that represent the values LEGO is based on: imagination, creativity, fun, learning, caring, and quality. The 12,000 meter-squared building will open in 2016 for fans of all ages to visit and enjoy!
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Brainiac Trailer
There's a new trailer out for the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
video game. The main focus is on Brainiac and his quest to collect worlds. There are also a bunch of teasers of the various environments in the game, as well as new character appearances. Looks like it will be quite the fun game.

Today brings another BZPower set review to the front page, this time one of the LEGO Ideas sets - 21109 Exo-Suit! One of the first ideas not based on a licensed theme, the Exo-Suit was greatly anticipated by a lot of AFOLs. Now that it's on shelves (or was, since it seems to be sold out in many places), how does it stack up? You'll have to continue on to read and watch our review to find out!
Fan Expo Canada will be taking place from August 28th to the 31st in Toronto, and LEGO will be there to show off some cool stuff. What cool stuff, you ask? Well how about an exclusive set just for attendees of the show! To see the full set and read the press release, read on!
Shadow of a Hero
BZPower Member Keyblade87 had an interesting idea for a photo, so he grabbed a couple sets, a camera, and a copy of Photoshop to create Shadow of a Hero
. While the idea is simple, the execution is great and it really brings back some memories from 2007. I like the posing of Matoro Mahri especially as it looks like he's shouldering a heavy burden while he slowly walks towards his destiny.

LEGO Makes Wish Come True
Niagara This Week has a touching story
that should remind us all why LEGO is such a great company. Daniel Catapano is currently fighting a brain tumor that has left him unable to do basic math - but he can still build. A huge fan of Bionicle, Daniel was able to make a trip to Billund, Denmark through the Children's Wish Foundation, where LEGO surprised him by bringing in all of the company's senior set designers to meet him and look at his creations. It's always awesome to see someone's dream come true and we wish Daniel the best of luck in overcoming his tumor.
The third wave of Mixels is starting to hit stores, so it's time for another BZPower set review. BZP Reporter Xccj managed to grab the three Mixels from the tan Spikels tribe, including 41521: Footi, 41522: Scorpi, and 41523: Hoogi. Should you claw your way through the crowd to get your hands on these, or are they best left in the dust? Read on to find out!

This year was one of the best BrickFairs yet - it had the largest attendance ever and set a new record for money raised for charity. There were also a lot of great MOCs on display, and of course BZPower was on site to take pictures of them to share with you all. Read on to check out all the amazing creations!
Official Images of New LEGO Minecraft Sets

that a new wave of minifig scale sets were on the way. Well, finally, official images have appeared on thethreevirtue's Youtube channel

LEGO and PNY Announce Branded Flash Drives
Earlier this week LEGO and PNY announced a partnership
whereby PNY will sell USB Flash Drives in the shape of everyone's favorite building brick. The drives come in 8 and 16 GB sizes and in blue, red, and yellow colors. They look almost exactly like a 2x4 brick and are completely compatible with your brick collection. This looks like a great product for LEGO fans who need to take their files on the go - I just wish they offered larger sizes!

LEGO Ninjago Blooper Reel
A new video was posted on the official LEGO YouTube channel recently - a LEGO Ninjago Exclusive Blooper Reel
! Go watch the minifigs that play your favorite characters from the Ninjago TV show get in the recording booth and take direction and deliver their lines. It's a pretty funny look behind the scenes and definitely gives a new perspective to the series. It's clear that the people behind the show had a lot of fun with this!

Check Out the BrickMap
As a result of a project kicked off by Yun Mi Antorini, the Community Strategist of LEGO CEE Team, a group of AFOLs have created the BrickMap
, a listing of LEGO-related sites on the Internet. The listing includes all sorts of categories, from parts databases to brick stores to fan events to custom element creators to fansites like BZPower! I'm happy to say that I was able to contribute to the initial listing, but now that it's online, anyone can help add new sites or update existing ones. This should hopefully be a great resource for the LEGO community, so make sure you add it to your bookmarks!
BZPower Livestream Tomorrow
Just a reminder that tomorrow we will be hosting a livestream over on BZPower's YouTube channel
to discuss the future of LEGO's constraction lines. Join the staff to discuss what direction they might be going in next! The stream will kick off at 8:30 PM Eastern time on Friday, August 15th. Hope to see you all then!

If there was any Marvel franchise that needed more LEGO love, it was the X-Men. And finally they've delivered, with this summer's 76022: X-Men vs The Sentinel! It features some of our favorite characters, as well as the evil Sentinel and the Blackbird jet! And BZPower Reporter Xccj is going to review it. Is this a set worth sinking your claws into, or should you just storm off and forget about it? Read on to find out.
There's one other name you might know me by... Star Lord
Guardians of the Galaxy is well on its way to being one of the top-grossing movies of the year, and it's clearly an inspiration to LEGO fans out there. Case in point, BZPower Reporter Kakaru recently posted his take on Peter Quill aka Star Lord on BZPower's Flickr Group
. You can check out a couple of the pictures here
. Micah does a great job capturing a human character using constraction and System pieces, especially the details of the helmet and head. It's an amazing creation that will get you hooked on a feeling of awesomeness!
