Stuart Sayger, the artist behind Bionicle's Ignition comic series in 2006 and 2007, was at Baltimore Comic Con earlier this month. BZPower staff and retired staff ChocolateFrogs and 55555, respectively, met up with Sayger to chat about the Bionicle comic, his work and style, and his experiences in the comic industry. He was such a fun guest to hang out with, so the conversation held so many amazing stories from Sayger's life. As such, the hour-long the interview is presented in two parts. Look for part two coming soon!

LEGO Opens Suit Against LEPIN
Through the LEGO Ambassador Network, Jacky Chen of the LCE Team recently shared the following message:
We would like to confirm that the LEGO Group have recently filed civil actions in China against the manufacturer and distributor of LEPIN branded construction toys. Our cases have been accepted by Chinese courts and are now pending for trials. We expect the 1st instance decision to be handed down in approximately one years' time. Please note that LEPIN will not be legally barred from marketing and selling its products while the case is being heard by the courts.
We deeply appreciate and share the LEGO community's concern and frustration about passing-off or imitation of LEGO products. We are committed to do whatever necessary to protect the LEGO brand and products against undue exploitation, and to minimize the risk of consumers being misled via improper use of LEGO Group intellectual property assets.
What do you think of this move? Let us know in the Talkback!

You Must Build a Boat
The variety of projects that reach ten thousand votes on LEGO Ideas keeps getting more and more diverse. The latest addition to the club is Boat Repair Shop
by RobenAnne, a model that fits in the modular building design camp but would look odd next to a Cafe Corner. I think they capture the waterfront look perfectly, with the multicolored wood planks, broken windows, and metal siding. The amount of detail is superb and looks great from any angle, inside or out. Now it must face the review phase to determine whether or not it will make it onto store shelves. What do you think? Will it pass? Would you buy it? Let us know in the Talkback!

LEGO to be a Hot Toy this Holiday
In news that should surprise no one, LEGO sets have appeared on a couple of lists containing predictions for popular toys this holiday season. On The Toy Insider's Hot 20 list
, the LEGO Star Wars Resistance X-wing Fighter is in the tweens category. Toy World has a report on Toys 'R' Us' must-have Christmas toys
, which includes the LEGO Friends Party Shop and LEGO Ninjago Samurai X Cave Chaos sets. I'm surprised no Star Wars Rogue One sets were there, but I'm sure plenty of LEGO products will be flying off shelves in the coming months and appearing under trees at the end of the year.

Speed Things Up with this Particle Accelerator
Sometimes the best way to learn about science is to accelerate particles to near the speed of light and then send them smashing into each other to see what happens. That seems to be what's going on at the BERG-LNZ Particle Acceleration Laboratory
, a fictional science MOC by Disty says hi. The System detailing gives the model a very industrial look which fits the background Disty has come up with. I love how he has incorporated the Bionicle pieces into the main accelerator, giving it a rather futuristic or hi-tech feel. So go admire it and let the builder know what you think - whatever you do though, don't stand in the middle between the two accelerators!

A Talk with a Game Designer Turned LEGO Designer
The LEGO community might not have been familiar with David Falkner before his Modular Train Station project reached ten thousand votes on LEGO Ideas, but gamers are no doubt aware of his work. David, it turns out, was the lead programmer on Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect 1 through 3. How do I know this? I read the recently-posted interview
on the LEGO Ideas blog where we learn more about the builder and the project. Go check it out to discover what it takes to get your project before LEGO for consideration to be made into a set. Best of luck to David in the review phase!

Take a Trip Through Okoto
Have you ever wanted to hop in a plane, take off, and zoom around through Okoto? If so, you might want to check out Animated Regions of Okoto
by Nescent, which combines a cool 3D recreation of the island with some 2D animation of the different regions, accompanied by some great music. To me it definitely captures the atmosphere of the Bionicle G2 environment, and is another great example of the creative things the community makes! Go check it out and let him know what you think!

New Updates for LEGO IDEAS
On the LEGO IDEAS Blog, Tim Courtney has posted an update
on some new improvements being made to the site. Most of these seem to be aimed at making searching easier, such as with the addition of new filters and clickable tags. However, he also announced a change to milestones for project supporters. New projects now have 60 days to reach 100 supporters; once they reach that mark, additional time will be added on their way to 10.000 supports. If you want to post your own project, or just learn how to better browse the current selection of creations, make sure to give this blog entry a read.
