BIONICLE Mask Hunt Officially Begins!
LEGO has released a video
disclosing the details of their new BIONICLE Mask Hunt contest! LEGO is asking fans to photograph "hidden masks" they spot in the world around them (clouds, trees, furniture, you name it) corresponding to the six BIONICLE elements, then share them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #BionicleMaskHunt. The top entry for each element will win the corresponding 14-karat gold BIONICLE mask! This is an unprecedented method for a BIONICLE giveaway, and it will be interesting to see what "hidden masks" fans discover!

The Real Reason Stepping on a LEGO Hurts
"I hope you step on a LEGO" is not just hyperbole for wishing ill on others, as we all know stepping on something pointy and hard can bring out quite a yelp. But there is more behind the brick's sharp edges and foot's soft flesh, explains Today I Found Out
. In particular, the average LEGO brick can withstand 953 pounds of force before being bent out of shape, while the foot is much more sensitive so it can work to keep us balanced and safe. Combine that with a brick's pointy corners and, well, you know the rest. The article
explains it with a bit more science, but it will not make it hurt any less.

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who Set Coming Soon
LEGO has published a first teaser for the upcoming Doctor Who set from LEGO Ideas on the LEGO Club site
. There is nothing really to see yet but if the past is of any indication, the fact that we are getting this first teaser at all means that more teasers and the set itself are coming quite soon. If you are a Doctor Who fan, you may want to stay tuned to updates to this matter.

BIONICLE Mask Hunt About to Begin
It seems LEGO is getting ready to give us the next chance to win one of the 14-karat gold BIONICLE masks as a video giving some insight into the creation of the golden masks has surfaced on Facebook
. The video also tells us to keep a close eye on the BIONICLE Facebook page and mentions the hashtag #BionicleMaskHunt. Looks like exciting stuff is coming soon!
Ninjago TV Show Sneak Peek
Toys 'R' Us has an exclusive sneak peek of a scene from an upcoming episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu that will be airing on Cartoon Network. You can check out the clip right here
and watch as Master Chen puts the contestants of the Tournament of Elements in a precarious situation. Let's hope it works out okay for everyone! There's no word on when the episode with this scene will air, so you'll just have to keep watching Ninjago on Cartoon Network this season to find out!

Build a Dragon, Win Prizes
While not an official BZPower contest, we're going to plug this as it's a pretty cool contest being run by a BZPower staff member that's worth a look. Nuju Metru is hosting A Dragon-Building Contest
for his (Not) LEGO Dragon Lands theme. The goal of the contest is to, "build your best, most imposing, most awe-inspiring dragon," to impress Aaron and come out on top. There will be prizes for the best three dragons as well as the coolest minifigure, so make sure your beast has an impressive rider or opponent. The entry period ends on Friday, May 8th at midnight Pacific Time, so pull out your bricks and get building!

Billion Brick Race
It looks like there's yet another LEGO movie in the works. The Hollywood Reporter has shared
that Jason Segel and Drew Pearce will write and co-direct Billion Brick Race. There's not much other information regarding what the movie will be about or when it will be released, so we'll just have to wait and see. It's interesting to see all the spinoffs The LEGO Movie is getting - I'm just hoping that some of them live up to the expectations set by the original.
New Jurassic World Set Revealed
The folks over at the Jurassic World fan site found images
of a sixth Jurassic World set coming out later this year. 75920 Raptor Escape was not on display at Toy Fair in New York last month, which means it will probably be a retailer exclusive - Toys 'R' Us and Wal Mart are the likely candidates. While there's no official word, I'd expect it to be available in May with the rest of the sets in the theme. I hope you're ready for more dinosaurs!

The Okoto Dragon Brings Good Luck
Bionicle is back around the world - even on the other side of the globe. Recently LEGO Russia held a building event for kids and brought in BZPower member Little Taggy as a 'Bionicle expert' to help out. During the event he decided to build something himself and, using only pieces from a bunch of Protector of Ice sets, created the Okoto Dragon
. Even without taking the part limitations into account, this Chinese dragon is quite impressive. There's some very creative uses of pieces like the eyes for claws and the mask on the tail, but don't take my word for it, go check it out!
LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin Officially Released
Today is the official release date of LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin
for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita, and to celebrate, WB Games has released a launch trailer
which offers a glimpse at the game's story, action, and humor. There have also been three blog entries at the official LEGO Video Games blog
discussing the design and gameplay. If the game hasn't already piqued your interest, maybe the new trailer and developer blog entries will be the extra push you need to add it to your personal wish list!

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who Teaser
I'm sure a lot of people are excited for the Doctor Who LEGO Ideas set coming out later this year. LEGO is clearly aware of that too, and has decided to toy with us by posting a teaser video
for the model. The iconic TARDIS sound lets us know that the Doctor will be materializing in 2015. At the end of the video, we get a tease of Twelve's head and those eyes that clearly are too busy to pay us any attention. The hype is real, and this set can't come out soon enough!
The Coolest Company in the World
Popular Mechanics ran an interesting article
last week about the recent success LEGO has seen and where it can all be traced back to. They go back into the history of the company a little bit, but the focus is primarily on the past decade that has seen TLG turn around and become a powerhouse in the toy industry. They even provide some behind-the-scenes looks at what goes on in Billund and interview some employees and others related to the brand like LEGO Certified Professional Sean Kenney. It's definitely a worthwhile read!

"Paint" LEGO Film Stretches LEGO Use
Most LEGO creations and uses for LEGO are static and show only a finished product. Well a short film making the rounds online shows another artistic side combining LEGO and stop-motion filming for an incredible short. "Paint: A Short LEGO Film
" by CheesyBricks takes our beloved medium and does something entirely different: it makes a LEGO painting by mimicking paint. Check it out, and then see what you can do yourself with the craft.

4-H LEGO Showcase in New Jersey
The Cumberland County 4-H will be hosting its second LEGO event on March 29th from 2-4PM at the Bridgeton Library in Bridgeton, New Jersey, the South Jersey Times reports
. While the event on its own is nothing too impressive (although its cool to hear about!), what caught my eye is the fact that they created a special award category this year for Constraction, in honor of the return of Bionicle! If you live in the South Jersey area and are 19 and under, consider attending and entering your LEGO and Bionicle creations!

LEGO Partners with UNICEF
Last week the LEGO Group and the LEGO Foundation announced a partnership with UNICEF
to support the Children's Rights and Business Principles, a "10-point charter that sets out actions companies can take to respect and support children's rights." LEGO has committed to supporting the program for three years and will work to set the standards and best practices for protecting children through its business actions. It's not all serious though, they also released a cool video
showing a time lapse of a giant build of the UNICEF logo. It's great to see LEGO taking a strong stand to protect children's rights and I hope the collaboration works out well!
The new LEGO Elves sets have been out for a couple weeks now, so it's about time we reviewed one. BZPower Reporter Xccj has taken a look at 41073 Naida's Epic Adventure Ship. Will this set indeed take you to magical places, or will it sink as soon as it leaves dock? Read on or watch the video review to find out.

BrickUniverse is Coming
Bricks Cascade just took place this past weekend, but the next major fan convention, BrickUniverse
, is right around the corner. The convention portion takes place from March 26th to 29th at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Public hours are March 28th and 29th from 10:30 AM to 4 PM. BZPower will be there, showing off your MOCs, and also participating in a panel! ! We look forward to seeing you all there!
Once again, it's not certain whether this was intentional or a slip-up, but episode 7 of the BIONICLE web series has been uploaded in English on LEGO's own YouTube channel. The Toa reach the Ancient City to meet for the first time and naturally, tension arises in a great twist on a shout-out to the old generation. Read on to watch the episode!
Publishers Weekly reports
that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has entered into a multi-year agreement to publish LEGO graphic novels. Little, Brown's first three LEGO graphic novels, focusing on Ninjago, Friends, and yes, BIONICLE, will be published before the 2015 holiday season. Read on for more details!

New Ninjago Music Video Released
It looks like The Fold has been busy lately! Just recently they released a video for one of their latest songs, The Ninja Roll
, which is featured in this season of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. Give it a watch and a listen, and let them know what you think! The band is quite involved with their fans and regularly interacts with them on Twitter and elsewhere.
A Hero's Journey
I'm not sure we've featured anything quite like this on the front page before, but it's certainly worthy of spotlighting. Entitled The Journey of Tahu - A Photo Essay
, Nidhiki of the Shadows has put together a series of photographs illustrating the travels of the Master of Fire after being awoken from his four year slumber. I love the depth of field and lighting as well as the different environments the Tahu finds himself in. It's an intriguing project, and one that's certainly worth checking out!

Jurassic World Game Teaser Released
Today WB Games has released a teaser trailer
for LEGO Jurassic World, the game that will be releasing this June. It showcases primarily scenes from the first Jurassic Park, each with a TT Games LEGO twist. The game will encompass the storylines of Jurassic Park 1 through 3 as well as the upcoming Jurassic World, and looks like it will be a blast!
The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out on May 1st, around a month and a half away, which means the LEGO tie-in sets are already on store shelves. Today we're looking at one such set, 76029 Iron Man vs. Ultron
, as reviewed by BZPower Blog Assistant Ta-metru_defender. It's the smallest set in the line, but it packs in four minifigs - is it worth your time and money? Read on to find out!
