    New Set Review: 8622 Nidhiki
    ReviewFriday, June 11th, 2004 at 12:12am

Our guest reviewer Golden Kanohi continues his reviews of the Summer 2004 Bionicle sets with Nidhiki.

    Item Number:8622
    Set Name:Nidhiki
    Price:USD$19.99

Nidhiki's box is deceiving, like Krekka's is. Do you see his yellow "eyes"? Those aren't on the set at all. I just thought that part was worth pointing out.

Opening the box, we have a selection of mainly silver and green pieces, with only two of the new ball joints.

Building Nidhiki is an interesting process, because you don't really realize when you're finished. The instructions construction Nidhiki in a condensed and easy way, and have you unfold him when you're done. Nidhiki's legs and arms make good use of the same silver rods used in Nidhiki's wing function.

A push or pull of a black Bohrok tooth midway on Nidhiki's arm snaps his claws open or closed, as shown with one claw open and one claw closed.

Transforming Nidhiki to "spider mode" is as simple as turning him completely around, turning his head around, and pushing his torso flat onto his lower body, creating a menacing, spider-like creature (minus a few legs, of course).

To wrap it up, Nidhiki is a stable and well-built set, as well as a menacing villain to the Toa Metru. His claws' spring action is well designed, and his multiple modes add a small, neat function to the overall set, making it a wonderful addition to a fan's collection.
