I really like this miniature toy plane. Come to think of it, it looks like it may be a microscale model of the plane in #3182 Airport. NAnd now that I realized that, it's likely that day four's model was based on #7632 Crawler Crane.
Now let's get this plane off the ground, shall we?
We're already one third done with the calendar now. Told you this year is fast.

Today's pretty basic. Just a dog with a food dish. I love how the dish is made from four of those corner wall pieces, but it's kind of annoying that they keep releasing the dog figure in brown ever since 2005. But hey! That's changing. :3
Oh also you can play fetch with the drum sticks:
If you don't mind them getting chewed up that is. :b
So I just closed FireFox 3 when I remembered I needed to download something, so I reopen it.
"Firefox is already running on your computer, please close it"
No it's not.
I go to open Internet Explorer instead.

NO IT'S NOT.

This entry (slowly) made possible by Internet Explorer.
Wheee lucky numbers

Today's model is an electric keyboard. Pretty neat, but ultimately kind of small. That's understandable for an Advent Calendar, but there are some things that don't look so great, like the white edges.
Lady Yamaha was gonna play some jamz with Sir Tonka, but she's a little too short to reach the keys. That's what skateboards are for!
Only true musical geniuses can play the piano while riding a skateboard.
Both are the second years for the lines, and they both have a fire theme.

Also I might have liked the new HF sets if they didn't have wacky ball-joint connections on the armor. That is seriously weird.
20 days till Christmas.

This set is pretty neat. It's a drum set, which is cool, because I'm pretty sure there's never really been anything like this in a LEGO set before. I kinda wish those drum sticks were shorter, though. Also, that second cymbal is actually a spare, so you can have two if you want.
You can also make it a hanging cymbal, like so!
That's what we call "improvisation." I'm pretty sure Dr. Snowlock doesn't mind
Soooo yeah, I beat the game. =D I don't plan on doing this very often, but since this is a recent game that's been stirring up some controversy among fans, I might as well give some of my thoughts on it. Nothing much, just a quick overview of my likes and dislikes. Having not played many Metroid games, this is mostly evaluating it as a stand-alone game and not a part of a larger series, but I do draw a few comparisons to other Metroid games when I feel the need to.

What becomes of our hero in his fight against the evil Dr. Snowlock?

Today's model is a toy crane. The scale is pretty cool, and they use parts nicely, especially the treads. This is a rather large item for just one day's model, in comparison to previous calendars. Shame there's nothing to resemble a crane hook, though.
Now forward, Sir Tonka! Unleash your army upon the wicked creature!
Yes I know I am late. Just pretend I'm not.

Well, it's a stakeboard and ramp for the kid who came yesterday. Pretty cool, and has one of those new 2x4 tiles. The green plate underneath is weird though, since it's too short and the ramp holds together fine without it.
So now let's ride it!
YYYYYEAH
Mine would probably be the ones they were playing at the pharmacy the other day. Dunno what they were called, but they were just awful. Some people should never be let near a microphone. D:
Funny how BZP went offline at the same time I had a power outage. Maybe the server's located near me? I dunno.
Well, here's today's model!

And now we got a minifigure. This guy is mostly made of newer pieces, so that's cool. But the best part? He comes with SPARE hats and swords!
DUAL-WIELDING SNOWMAN KILLER OF DOOOOOOOM.
Also I beat Other M juuust before my power went out yesterday.
Happy December! This year's going too fast. Just like last year, only faster.
BUT ANYWAY, here's the first day's set:

Nope, not a minifigure like I first thought. This snowman is pretty neat, but the arms are kinda weird in the way that they stick out of the sides like that. It's nice, though, and overall looks a little better than previous advent calendar snowmen.
Also, Shadix/Night Fury is doing his own review of the calendar as
WARNING: ALL CAPS ENTRY INCOMING
I WAS IN THE LAST PHASE OF THE METROID QUEEN BATTLE AND THEN I HAD A POWER OUTAGE.
NOW I HAVE TO REDO THE WHOLE THING INCLUDING THE METROID LARVAE.

Well, Tomorrow (Or maybe today by the time I post this XD) Is December, so I'll be starting my Advent Calendar review then, but first I want to post pictures of the box:
What's probably the coolest part is the inside (as promised, there will be spoiler tags):

This is not unlike the 2009 calendar, which had an ice pond scene, only this one is indoors, which is a fitting setting for the models inside.
The wall contains a city s
The more I play Other M, the more I keep expecting Anthony Higgs to say that phrase.
That guy is a total flirt. :b
Allllmost done with the game (I think? The pacing is weird). Maybe I'll post a quicky review when I'm done. =)
I already own the FULL VERSION of Microsoft Office 2007. How come every time I boot you up, you try to configure the the setup for the TRIAL VERSION? >
...Apparently you can just close the box and it runs normally, though. :|
Yeah more Other M stuff. Haha.
But really why did they go and deliberately hide the traitor guy's face during the boss fight? You could pretty easily tell who it was in the cut-scene RIGHT BEFORE.
But oh look at me nit-picking. I am actually having fun with this game. Looking at it as an action game, not an adventure game nor a turning point for the Metroid series (something that I seriously doubt it ever was or will be), it's good fun.
1) Replace stock elevator music clips with Metroid elevator room tune
2) Program it so that the Samus Intro Fanfare plays when the doors open
This would be so incredibly awesome.
Because even libraries aren't getting kids to read books anymore.
So yeah, it's a pretty fun game. I actually have only played the NES Metroid before this one, so it's hard to judge how good this game is compared to the series.,
Only up to the first mission or so. I'd play more but I need to go take tests. D:
