I shall make sure to add a fail safe to discourage this from occurring.

Why bother adding a failsafe? If a few players decide to band together and veto a round, let them try. That gives you as staff an opportunity to show off how powerful your staff characters are, and adds a bit of tension to the story.

I do admit that it would be rather fun to tear a few minds into shreds...

Power negation only works if the other person even has powers. And even then, many people who do have powers tend to use them to supplement other types of combat.

Honestly it would just be easier to say that they have a bunch of robot security guards helping them run the place.

"I serve the weak. I serve the helpless. I am their sword and their shield. If you want to strike at them, you must go through me, and I am not so easily moved."

Well, they apparently have an endless supply of drones to throw at people in horde battles, so robot security guards would make sense.

Just use bomb collars with remote detonators. Simple and effective.

Suicide Squad style? :P That would probably work. I'd think the Host would go for something a bit more tasteful... and we might have something already planned out to use in a situation like that. (I'll talk to Tex and Blade about it.)

It was the first idea that popped into my head. Implants might work better, or whatever other nefarious idea you come up with.

About the name section of the profile sheet - in previous Bionifight games, you were required (or "heavily recommended") to use your screen name as your character name, so it would be redundant to add a field for player name. We realized that that wouldn't be the case here and added the name field to remind ourselves (at least that's why I thought we did it).

With what, an e?

*sad trumpet*

In all seriousness, in my heavily biased opinion, no RPG should be solely based around an arena. Now, having an arena aspect is actually pretty neat, but having regular fights based upon a real-time clock that take all players away from whatever they're doing... no. Just... no.

Why is that a biased opinion?

E: Unless you mean to imply that you dislike it simply because you yourself are about to submit an RPG to the judges, in which case my question is entirely pointless.

Your first sentence answered your question. I tend to have strong opinions about things and I tend to be biased towards or against things from the start. Granted, my submission of an RPG might be tainting my opinion, but even if I wasn't submitting one, I probably still wouldn't support this. It's just not my cup of tea.

Because I'm biased against this type of RPG, my opinion of Bionifight is biased.

That would require outright replacing the eye.

The franchise being referenced does have characters witch ocular flashbangs installed, but they're hardly recognizable as human afterwards anyway, due to unethical enhancements.

You wanna control a population like this? Poison them all, and administer an antidote that keeps them from feeling the effects through their food.

It would have to be a metalic-based poison, though; can't have those pesky Bo-Toa rendering it inert, now...

And would probably give you an advantage in combat too that would make you a serious pain to fight against.

In any case, there's not really a lot you can do to keep in a sufficiently determined player who builds a character to circumvent limits, short of dropping a no on the proposed character.

The mask of healing doesn't work on the user.

It'd be useful for team fights, though. Especially if you had two or more people with that mask who decided to work together.

I was mostly just pointing out that it would make more sense to come up with a less gimmicky reason to explain why this thing has been going on for several thousand years.

We're currently working on this issue (the whole "what if there's an uprising" thing).

Aside from that and the infinity gems needing to be expanded upon, I don't believe there were any other issues other than the lack of a map, so we might have a new version of the RPG with the changes tonight.

Just a random thought concerning Bionifight Infinite...

Once upon a time, back before I joined BZPower, I was involved in a BIONICLE-based fight-to-the-death RPG. And the gimmick that was used to prevent the combatants from escaping the combat zone, was a thick black substance called 'Shadowdermis'. It wasn't really metal-based or plant-based or anything-based, really; it was just a sort of exotic black evil gunk that couldn't be manipulated by any known elemental beings or mask powers or whatever else.

A dose of this substance was injected into each combatant's bloodstream upon arriving at the arena. It didn't have any directly harmful or even noticeable effects; it simply worked its way into the body tissues and remained there. Permanent and untouchable, but dormant and completely benign.

Unless it was 'activated' by the arena's overseers via some sort of signal (might have been of the 'psychic pulse' type; I don't remember for sure), in which event it basically turned into Shadow-enhanced black plasma and burned the combatant to death from the inside out in a matter of a few extremely painful and gory seconds.

It was the ultimate overpowered Gamemaster's fail-safe device And it was pretty awesome.

Now something like that I could see working.

It might be a good idea to alter it into an acid of some sort though, just to make it clearer to players that they can't try to resist their way out of it with their powers.

Considering that most every element you can think of is allowed, barring the exception of Magnetism at the least(and I think we've had iron be okay to this point), I'd think that's kinda redundant.

Just out of curiosity, why the problem with magnetism? People trying to Magneto everyone into a giant Indiana Jones boulder and win that way or something?

No, iron is still worse. I've seen a few people use iron for absorbing metal projectiles to make themselves stronger, or trying to take control of their opponents armour and weapons. A lot of RPers I've seen have their characters use iron to create an endless supply of weapons for themselves, and I'm pretty sure that would kind of clash with the whole three weapons slots thing. It's even more OP than magnetism.

So I'd suggest that if you're going to ban one, you should probably ban both.

The absorbing thing is pretty much thrown out on the grounds of 'play nice' in general, so I don't think that's a problem.

As for the slot conflicts; of course we're going to take everything into account here, so if something seems off, we're going to not approve it.

Also, trying to take control of weapons or armour in general is a no-no; we very typically frown on that.

Write off most weapons and armor as biometals, perhaps? A hybrid of metal and organic materials that make up the tool, rendering it unaffected by iron and other such abilities?

However. "Play nice," nice as it is in theory, cannot be relied upon. People want to win. If you don't specify "hey no absorbing projectiles," someone will do it.
